{"id":51,"date":"2007-08-21T12:17:00","date_gmt":"2007-08-21T20:17:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.teamcrossworld.com\/running\/?p=51"},"modified":"2008-08-05T05:13:03","modified_gmt":"2008-08-05T13:13:03","slug":"running-trends-and-race-results","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.teamcrossworld.com\/running\/2007\/running-trends-and-race-results\/","title":{"rendered":"Running Trends and Race Results"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"center\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/school.discovery.com\/clipart\/images\/graph.gif?resize=205%2C134\" alt=\"\" width=\"205\" height=\"134\" \/><\/p>\n<p>First the running trends:<\/p>\n<p>Here are some interesting <a href=\"http:\/\/www.runningusa.org\/cgi\/trends.pl\">statistics<\/a> about running in the USA.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In 2006, over\u00a08.5 million people completed a US Road Running\u00a0Event, with\u00a038% of those completing a 5K and 4.8% completing a marathon.<\/li>\n<li>That is a\u00a05% increase over 2005.<\/li>\n<li>The above\u00a08.5 million people competed in\u00a0almost 15,000 events in 2006 with 50% of those being 5K&#8217;s.<\/li>\n<li>Over 43,000 participated in the Celestial Seasonings Bolder Boulder 10K, 2006&#8217;s largest race, while Indy&#8217;s Mini-Marathon placed 7th overall with 27,000 finishers.<\/li>\n<li>The half-marathon or\u00a013.1 mile event is the largest growing event in the country.
