{"id":2358,"date":"2010-10-18T12:14:04","date_gmt":"2010-10-18T17:14:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.teamcrossworld.com\/running\/?p=2358"},"modified":"2011-01-17T10:04:50","modified_gmt":"2011-01-17T15:04:50","slug":"first-thoughts-saucony-kinvara","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.teamcrossworld.com\/running\/2010\/first-thoughts-saucony-kinvara\/","title":{"rendered":"First Thoughts: Saucony Kinvara"},"content":{"rendered":"<table align=\"right\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td><a title=\"PA153825 by crossn81, on Flickr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/crossn81\/5085095256\/\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/farm5.static.flickr.com\/4128\/5085095256_8c6481d214.jpg?resize=250%2C187\" alt=\"PA153825\" width=\"250\" height=\"187\" \/><\/a><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>I got a free pair of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B00394F1ZI?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=crossinator-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;creativeASIN=B00394F1ZI\">Saucony Progrid Kinvara<\/a> in the mail on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Here are some of my initial thoughts without having run in them!<\/p>\n<p>I like the blue color and design. \u00a0As I pulled it out of the box it was quite obvious that it was a &#8220;minimalist&#8221; shoe. \u00a0The upper is all mesh and fairly flimsy. \u00a0The bottom is EVA+ foam and pretty flexible. The tread on the Kinvara is slightly aggressive, but not like a trail shoe. \u00a0It does look more like a trail shoe than a road shoe, but a lot lighter. \u00a0They weigh in just under 8 ounces, which is pretty light for a shoe.<\/p>\n<p>The Kinvara use a flat shoe lace, while the rest of my shoes use the round lace. \u00a0Does this save weight?
