{"id":2054,"date":"2010-08-02T09:51:50","date_gmt":"2010-08-02T14:51:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.teamcrossworld.com\/running\/?p=2054"},"modified":"2010-08-02T09:51:50","modified_gmt":"2010-08-02T14:51:50","slug":"july-counting-down","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.teamcrossworld.com\/running\/2010\/july-counting-down\/","title":{"rendered":"July&#8230; Counting Down"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Where has July gone? \u00a0The month was crazy busy, fun, and now over. \u00a0All month I was involved in a summer program which had me planning for a variety of classes and age levels. \u00a0Those two facts made me stretch mentally and tested my patience! \u00a0The last week alone I taught &#8220;Wacky Chemistry&#8221; to 4th-7th graders and &#8220;Photography for Kids&#8221; to 1st-4th graders. \u00a0What a stretch.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve finally been able to run with some\u00a0consistency. \u00a0This last week I ran a whopping 10 miles over 3 runs. \u00a0Slowly but surely. \u00a0It is feeling good, especially the 4 miler I did at Wild River State Park over the weekend. At the same park I swam across the St Croix River to Wisconsin and back which was a pretty tough swim, which I&#8217;m estimating at 400 meters. \u00a0My knee pain continues to lessen and was virtually non-existent during the trail run.<\/p>\n<p>This week&#8217;s ONE POST is about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.teamcrossworld.com\/running\/2007\/fartleking-fun\/\">Fartleking Fun<\/a>!! Fartlek&#8217;s are the funnest way to incorporate speedwork into your training!<\/p>\n<p>Only 3 weeks until Ragnar!!<\/p>\n<p>Here is a look at the goals I set at the beginning of the year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Run Around All Named Bodies of Water in Minneapolis<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Most of my running has been on the Greenway.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Read the Entire Bible in a Year<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Continue to do well on this, though I use the extra few days at the end of the month to catch up. \u00a0It is odd but it seems easier to remember to read it on the weekdays than the weekends when my schedule isn&#8217;t as ordered. I have finished reading\u00a0Psalms\u00a0which took 7 months to read!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Read a Book a Month<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Even with a somewhat consistent reading time I didn&#8217;t get a book finished. \u00a0During our summer program we spent 20 minutes each day reading, this often was a great time for my co-leader and I to finish prepping for the day or do some administrative stuff so I didn&#8217;t always get to read, plus I often forgot <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/0767903862?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=crossinator-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;creativeASIN=0767903862\"><em>In A Sunburned Country<\/em><\/a> at home or at school and so didn&#8217;t always have it to read. \u00a0Plus it is a little long and not that exciting. \u00a0I&#8217;m over 1\/2 way so hopefully I&#8217;ll finish it and another in August!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Blog Regularly<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve done fairly well on here, missing a few times. \u00a0Sadly I had the first day I missed taking a picture for my <a href=\"http:\/\/www.teamcrossworld.com\/365\">Project 365<\/a> blog. \u00a0I just didn&#8217;t take a picture at all. \u00a0While I sometimes miss getting the picture posted on the right day, one day I just completely forgot to take a picture!<\/p>\n<p>Please take a minute and visit my fundraising page for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.teamcrossworld.com\/worldvision\">Team World Vision<\/a> and my Ragnar Relay.<\/p>\n<p>In the past month my<a href=\"https:\/\/www.teamcrossworld.com\/running\/2009\/treatments-for-plantar-fasciitis\/\"> Treatments for Plantar Fasciitis<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.teamcrossworld.com\/running\/2010\/curing-plantar-fasciitis\/\">Curing Plantar Fasciitis<\/a> have continued to be at the top of my most viewed posts.
