{"id":2018,"date":"2010-06-30T10:38:50","date_gmt":"2010-06-30T15:38:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.teamcrossworld.com\/running\/?p=2018"},"modified":"2010-06-29T22:08:22","modified_gmt":"2010-06-30T03:08:22","slug":"what-a-month","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.teamcrossworld.com\/running\/2010\/what-a-month\/","title":{"rendered":"What a Month"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This has been a rough month. \u00a0I really, really want to run. \u00a0Biking and swimming are great, but runners want to run. \u00a0The latest report from my doctor is that I tested negative for Lyme disease (which doesn&#8217;t mean it isn&#8217;t still inside of me), but my knee is still swollen slightly. \u00a0She drained fluid off of my knee and it looked normal for awhile. \u00a0The last few times I&#8217;ve tried running it has swelled up. \u00a0Ugh.<\/p>\n<p>Here is my mileage for the month:<\/p>\n<p>Running &#8211; 4.7 miles (over 3 runs)<\/p>\n<p>Biking &#8211; 257 miles (as of last night)<\/p>\n<p>Swimming &#8211; 1.6 miles<\/p>\n<p>Aqua Jogging &#8211; 3 sessions<\/p>\n<p>Here is a look at the goals I set at the beginning of the year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Run Around All Named Bodies of Water in Minneapolis<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ugh.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Read the Entire Bible in a Year<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Staying on track to complete it in a year. \u00a0Half -way!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Read a Book a Month<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I finished an amazing retelling of the battle for the first 4-minute mile. \u00a0<em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/0618562095?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=crossinator-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;creativeASIN=0618562095\">The Perfect Mile<\/a> <\/em>chronicles the journeys of Landy, Santee, and of course Bannister as they try to be the first one to crack the 4 minute barrier. \u00a0It also includes some bonus coverage of the lead up to the &#8220;Mile of the Century&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Blog Regularly<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Well as you&#8217;ve noticed this hasn&#8217;t been going too well. \u00a0It has been hard to think or write much about running when I can&#8217;t run. \u00a0It has helped to read <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/0618562095?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=crossinator-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;creativeASIN=0618562095\">The Perfect Mile<\/a><\/em> and relish in the delight of being an athlete and the reminder of my college days.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.teamcrossworld.com\/running\/2009\/treatments-for-plantar-fasciitis\/\">Treatments for Plantar Fasciitis<\/a> has stayed at the number one spot, however this month <a href=\"https:\/\/www.teamcrossworld.com\/running\/2010\/minnesota-marathons\/\">Minnesota Marathons<\/a> has moved into a close second.
