{"id":2000,"date":"2010-05-31T18:15:51","date_gmt":"2010-05-31T23:15:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.teamcrossworld.com\/running\/?p=2000"},"modified":"2010-12-29T22:54:27","modified_gmt":"2010-12-30T03:54:27","slug":"happy-memorial-day-may-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.teamcrossworld.com\/running\/2010\/happy-memorial-day-may-update\/","title":{"rendered":"Happy Memorial Day &#038; May Update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today we celebrate <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Memorial_Day\">Memorial Day<\/a>, honoring our military men and women who died in battle and marking the unofficial beginning of summer.<\/p>\n<p>Summer came early with many hot, hot days in Minnesota. We&#8217;ve already had a handful of days in the upper-80&#8217;s and 90&#8217;s. I go back on the 1st for my follow-up on Lyme Disease and hopefully permission to run again and that my body is disease free. \u00a0I just watched a video about <a href=\"http:\/\/www.runnersworld.com\/video\/1,8052,s6-5-0-1,00.html?bcpid=2884339001&amp;bclid=82523976001&amp;bctid=86044084001\">Bart Yasso, Comrades, and Lyme Disease<\/a>. I haven&#8217;t really been doing much besides biking for workouts and frankly a 3 mile ride to work isn&#8217;t much of a workout. \u00a0But this past week I biked almost 28 miles. \u00a0I was going to aqua jog on Tuesday night, but the pool was full and the lady said I couldn&#8217;t aqua jog, but I could join her water aerobics class. \u00a0I did and actually got a pretty good core workout.<\/p>\n<p>Monthly miles &#8211;<\/p>\n<p>Biking &#8211; 134 miles<\/p>\n<p><strong>Run Around All Named Bodies of Water in Minneapolis<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This whole not being able to run thing is still cramping my style on this one.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Read the Entire Bible in a Year<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Another good month. \u00a0Almost half-way through.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Read a Book a Month<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I didn&#8217;t start a new book until last weekend, so it was a good thing that it was short. \u00a0It was actually a thought provoking read. <a href=\"ttp:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&amp;location=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2Fgp%2Fentity%2FHenri-J.-M.-Nouwen%2FB000AQ4ZZ0%3Fie%3DUTF8%26ref_%3Dsr%5Fntt%5Fsrch%5Flnk%5F1%26qid%3D1275162262%26sr%3D8-1&amp;tag=crossinator-20&amp;linkCode=ur2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957\"> Henri Nouwen<\/a> has written a lot of though provoking books, this month was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/0824512596?ie=UTF8&amp;tag=crossinator-20&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=390957&amp;creativeASIN=0824512596\">In the Name of Jesus: Reflections on Christian Leadership<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Blog Regularly<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Now that we&#8217;ve been getting our CSA again, I&#8217;ve been at least posting a picture of that on my personal blog. \u00a0I&#8217;ve struggled to have the free time to keep this blog updated, even though it just celebrated its 3rd birthday! My <a href=\"http:\/\/www.teamcrossworld.com\/365\">365 blog<\/a> is still going strong. It is a creative challenge some days when I realize at the end of the day I haven&#8217;t taken a picture yet. \u00a0My hyperlocal <a href=\"http:\/\/www.midtownphillips.info\">Midtown Phillips News<\/a> blog is still going well. \u00a0I&#8217;d like to have the free-time to develop it some more, but it is good.
