{"id":1936,"date":"2010-04-05T10:19:14","date_gmt":"2010-04-05T15:19:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.teamcrossworld.com\/running\/?p=1936"},"modified":"2010-04-04T13:30:34","modified_gmt":"2010-04-04T18:30:34","slug":"finally-some-good-news","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.teamcrossworld.com\/running\/2010\/finally-some-good-news\/","title":{"rendered":"Finally Some Good News"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I finally got an MRI done on Tuesday and the results on Thursday. \u00a0The good news is that the results don&#8217;t show any damaged parts. \u00a0My ligaments,\u00a0cartilage,\u00a0meniscus, etc all looked fine on the MRI images. \u00a0The only thing that showed up was swelling, which was the obvious. \u00a0This is really good news because most likely damage would have resulted in surgery. \u00a0After those results the doctor said to start taking Aleve and try to get rid of the swelling. \u00a0Even after a few days the swelling has gone down and I&#8217;m slowly gaining normal function of my knee! While this means we don&#8217;t have an actual diagnosis I&#8217;ll be happy to return to normal!<\/p>\n<p>This was most\u00a0definitely\u00a0not how I had\u00a0envisioned\u00a0spending my spring break. \u00a0Especially one that had temps into the upper 70&#8217;s here in MN. \u00a0I was able to get a little bit of yard work and some inside work done, though you&#8217;d be surprised at how much an unbendable knee affects your ability to do much physical work. \u00a0We also had our first BBQ of the season and purchased (from craigslist) a fire pit and had our first &#8220;bonfire&#8221;. \u00a0They city calls them &#8220;recreational fires&#8221; but that sounds weird! My car also broke down this week, though we got it literally patched together. \u00a0The prognosis is that by the end of summer it will need to be sent into the car netherlands.<\/p>\n<p>Enough about my life. Hopefully I&#8217;ll be able to at least bike and then run again soon. \u00a0How was your week?
