It was a slightly different course and atmosphere.&nbsp; Last year had a big focus on the Olympic Games.&nbsp; I wrote about competition and whether doping was part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.teamcrossworld.com\/running\/2008\/olympic-medals-or-olympic-spirit\/\">Olympic Spirit<\/a>.&nbsp; Have you heard about the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.teamcrossworld.com\/running\/2008\/elite-running-cookbook\/\">Elite Running Cookbook<\/a>? I still think it would make a great present (hint, hint). <a href=\"https:\/\/www.teamcrossworld.com\/running\/2008\/foto-friday-24\/\">Foto Friday<\/a> was from a muddy trail run at Hyland Hills.&nbsp; This time last year we also found out that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.teamcrossworld.com\/running\/2008\/breaking-news-pistorius-allowed-to-compete\/\">Oscar Pistorius<\/a> would be allowed to compete for a spot on the Olympic team.<\/p>\n<p>Run: 10.6 Mi<br \/>\nBike: 21.6 Mi<\/p>\n<p><strong>Last Week<\/strong> was pretty much another down week.&nbsp; Still letting my foot heal up. Until the weekend.&nbsp; This was my first &#8220;<a class=\"zem_slink\" title=\"Mancation\" rel=\"wikipedia\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Mancation\">mancation<\/a>&#8221; trip with my running friends to <a href=\"http:\/\/bayfield.org\/\">Bayfield, WI<\/a>.&nbsp; My <a href=\"http:\/\/twitter.com\/crossn81\/status\/1830018062\">tweeted <\/a>summary says it well:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span class=\"status-body\"><span class=\"entry-content\">3 days, 3 tough but scenic runs, 33+ miles, 3 beers, 3 blisters 3 ticks. Snow, Sun and Superior. A fun and sucsessful weekend.<\/span><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span class=\"status-body\"><span class=\"entry-content\">I won&#8217;t go into much detail about the runs, except they all had a lot of hills, great scenery, and the kicked my butt! Below are pictures from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.teamcrossworld.com\/running\/2009\/google-earth-enhanced-features-free\/\">Google Earth<\/a> and the elevation charts. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"status-body\"><span class=\"entry-content\">Our first run was in transit to Bayfield and was on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.birkie.com\/?page=1038\">Birkie Trail<\/a>, home of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.birkie.com\">American Birkebeiner&nbsp; Ski Race<\/a>. Run number 4 (my third) was at the amazing <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dnr.state.mn.us\/state_parks\/jay_cooke\/index.html\">Jay Cooke State Park<\/a>.
