02172018 – Skiing

We’ve had several warm days which I’m sure have ruined most of the natural snow trails. I took the meadow trail to get to the start/finish area and it was ok. I wouldn’t have wanted to ski much further on it. The man made loops were still great and I think I actually did almost all of them today. I still have conquered the huge hill by the chalet. I did 4.2 miles in just under an hour. The temp was mid-20s with some light snow coming down. It was a great morning to ski!

When I got home I did another quick 21-15-9 workout.

Bench Press

Slam Ball 15#

Lunges

I finished in 5:36. I’m not sure how much my bar actually weighs, maybe only 10 pounds and I just did the empty bar, so not super impressive but it’s what I got! Anyone want to gift me a bar!

02102018 – Skiing

Longest ski yet on a cold morning at sunrise! It was about 2 above when I walked down to start my ski. We had gotten a few inches spread out in the past week so I decided to check out the Skyline Trail again and the classic tracks were in much better shape. I then ventured back into the South Wirth trails and hit up a new to me section on the West side of the lake. That’s the only place I fell today as I couldn’t make the turn! It was fun to catch the sunrise as I twisted and turned on the trail!

Total distance was 6.6 miles in 1:30:58.

When I got home I did

02032018 – Ski

I was able to get out for a midmorning ski today. I did the Skyline Trail again, some fresh snow has improved it, but still fairly icy. The man made loops continue to be great! I almost built up the courage to try going down the big hill, but chickened out!

4.6 miles in 1:02.

This is me mid-ski after I crossed the road!

01282018 – Bike Trainer and Skiing

I did 40 minutes on the bike trainer watching some TED videos. I did some single leg pedaling mixed in. Those are hard by the way!

Then I did 2 rounds of 10 each of

Pushups

Situps

Squats

Hanging pulls.

During the kid’s ski lessons I went for a ski on some icy trails. The natural ski trails especially Skyline Trail was super icy and a few patches of grass showing. The man made snow loops were in great shape and I had a nice ski hitting 21 mph on one of the downhill!

The skyline from the Skyline trail!

01232018 – Ski and Shovel

This morning started the serious work of digging out from the 9-14 inches that we got.

After resting from that I went out for a ski on some of the South Wirth trails and accumulated just over 7k in about 70 minutes. The trails had been rolled but not tracked until on my way back. So I’m sure that added extra work to my classic skiing! It sure was beautiful though.

Then in the afternoon kids and I went with friends sledding and my phone roughly estimates that we walked 2.5 miles with at least half of that climbing and in deep snow!
