Steak and Shake is on the short list of places we try to visit when we are back in the lower midwest. Yummy!
Baby Shower #2
My mom hosted a baby shower for us in Frankfort and it was another good time with friends and family on a hot and muggy day!! Some friends bought us baby wipes, diapers, and gatorade for me and chocolate for Christy!! Thanks to the many friends and family who blessed us and our soon-to-be daughter with many wonderful gifts!!
Baby Shower #1
The second half of our vacation is seeing family and friends. Christy’s sister and parents hosted a shower for us in Indianapolis.
Newport’s Cliff Walk
For the last day of our Rhode Island adventure we did the Newport Cliff Walk. Our understanding was that it was a 1.5 mile walk one way, so we hopped on a trolley/bus to the far end of the walk. We enjoyed the rugged walk – parts were paved and other parts were easy scrambling on boulders. It was a gorgeous morning for a walk. It turns out it was more like 3.5 miles one way so we were running late for checkout and got a parking ticket for not feeding the meter enough! Not a good way to end an otherwise relaxing vacation. We nixed the idea of a quick dip in the ocean and headed back to cleanup and check out before driving to the airport.
Breakers Mansion
Thanks to a friend of a friend we got a few free passes to check out the local mansions. This one is called the Breakers and was used by the Vanderbilts during the Gilded Age. This mansion offered an audio tour that you could do at your own pace. This is actually a side image of the HUGE "summer cottage". It was pretty ridiculous if you ask me!
