I hit the bike for an easy hour ride covering 16 miles of indoor bliss! Nothing too exciting really. It felt pretty good so I went ahead and did my accelerations – afterwards my legs hurt, so not a good idea! Live and learn. It is warming up again this weekend, which seems to be a theme so I might try running outdoors again.

I didn’t take any other pictures inside the theater! This was an excellent movie, I would highly recommend that anyone who didn’t go last night should go to the encore screening on February 21 at 7:30pm. It was inspiring, funny, touching, and triumphant! There were plenty of famous people and some excellent quotes.We also stayed to watch the “Making of the Movie” less than half our audience stayed. The theater had the movie showing on two screens, one of which was sold out!It was nice to see the Chicago Marathon in 2005 was excellent conditions, since my only experience was this past year as a volunteer.

I also thought it was interesting to see the Brooks Hanson guys pacing the elite runners throughout the beginning of the race. Especially now that Brian Sells is an Olympic Contender.

Yesterday’s Workout

I decided to try and remain consistent while I build my mileage back up for the half-marathon training that I had to run Thursday. We were going to an art show in the evening so it had to happen this morning. It was 3 degrees with a -11 wind chill at 6am. Brrrr… would be an understatement. This time I was properly dressed and completed the 5.37 miles in 46:36. It was quiet and almost peaceful (if not for the wind) as I meandered around Burnsville’s thoroughfares. Nothing too exciting or unexpected. It was bitter cold, but I think I’m a better man because of it, or something like that!

If you look closely you can see the icicles that formed on my goatee! This was
taken on New Year’s Day.

Yesterday’s Workout:I ran 5 miles at the beautiful Lake Calhoun. I did one lap (approx 3.1) around and then added extra to get the full 5 miles. The lake is frozen over with snow on top and quite beautiful. The sun was bright and shiny, a nice change, and the trail was 99% cleared which was a very nice change. I did the 5 miles in 38:26.[tags] Foto Friday, Minneapolis [/tags]

Yesterday’s Workout

I rode the bike at the gym for 30 minutes and then jumped onto the rowing machine for 10 minutes. This was a pretty easy workout. I was supposed to lift lower body since it was Thursday, but I left my lift sheet at home, so I’ll just make up for it on Friday!
