Races on Sept 29

I will be joining my wife and her family at the Turn up the Volume race supporting Ovarian cancer this weekend. I’ll be racing the 4Mi run, my wife and sister-in-law will walk the 3 mile walk, and the parents-in-law will be doing the 1 mile walk. Some good ole fashion family fun!

Turn Up the Volume to BLAST Ovarian Cancer begins at 9am at Victory Field in Indianapolis. This event raising money for Ovar’Coming Together and is being hosted by Tuxbro.

8th Annual Hoosiers Outrun Cancer 5K begins at 10:30am at IU’s Memorial Stadium in Bloomington. All proceeds benefit the Olcott Center for Cancer Education. In conjunction with the World Wide Day of Play there will be lots of activities for the kids. Hosted by Ken Long & Associates.

Cole Porter 15K Run & 5K Run/Walk (pdf) begins at 9am at the Circus Building in Peru. It is being hosted by the Peru Rotary Club to benefit the rails to trails program.

Little Run on the Hillside 5K begins at 8am at Northview Christian Life Church’s XC Courses in Carmel. Proceeds earned during the event are used towards programs for the church and school (Saint Louis de Montfort Catholic Parish) such as tuition assistance, strengthening our community outreach program for the homeless, and supporting a food pantry for the poor in Hamilton County.

2nd Annual 5K Carmel Lions Run/Family Walk for Sight (pdf) begins at 9am at the Carmel Lions Club. All proceeds will go towards screening pre-school children’s vision.

Putnam County Museum 4Mi Run/2Mi Walk is at DePauw’s Nature Park in Greencastle starting at 9am. Contact Lee Stewart for more information.

Cory Apple Festival 5K is at the Perry Township Volunteer Fire Department beginning at 9am. All proceeds benefit the Perry Twp Volunteer Fire Department. Prize given for best apple themed costume.

Harvest Hustle 5K Run/Walk (doc) begins at 8:30 am at the Fowler Town Park Shelter House near Fowler, IN.

McDonald’s 2nd Annual 5K Community Walk/Run begins at 3pm at the Greenwood McDonalds on State Road 135. Contact Carol Hoskins for more information.

SUNDAY

Kay Roberts Memorial Trot for the Cure 5K begins at 8:30 at Indiana Downs in Shelbyville. All proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society.
